Cambelt Replacement

Replacing your cambelt on schedule is the cheapest engine repair you'll ever do.

Why cambelts matter

Your cambelt keeps the top and bottom of your engine turning in time. If it snaps on most modern engines, the pistons hit the valves, and you’re looking at a rebuilt or replacement engine. A new cambelt, on schedule, is the cheapest engine repair you’ll ever do. The bill for ignoring it can be thousands.

When to replace

Every manufacturer specifies a cambelt change interval. It’s usually every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, or every 4 to 5 years, whichever comes first. Age matters as much as mileage: rubber degrades over time even if you barely drive. If you don’t know your car’s schedule, bring it in and we’ll check.

What we do

We replace the cambelt, tensioners and idler pulleys as a kit. It’s the right way to do it, because these parts wear together. Where the manufacturer specifies it, we also replace the water pump at the same time, since the labour is already paid for by that point and it’s a classic source of a repeat bill if you skip it.

Book your cambelt change

Tell us your car and mileage when you book and we’ll confirm the right kit and timing.
